AuraMaia Advanced Manufacturing has been honored with the prestigious “Factory of the Year – Sustainability” award for its industry-leading closed-loop manufacturing systems and commitment to carbon neutrality. The award recognizes the company’s comprehensive initiatives to minimize environmental impact across its 14,000 m² production campus.

The company’s most acclaimed initiative is its in-house aluminum recycling and remelting system. By segregating and processing machining swarf and casting returns, AuraMaia has achieved a 95% internal recycling rate for aluminum, drastically reducing raw material consumption and waste. This closed-loop system is complemented by a switch to 100% renewable energy sources for its melting operations and the installation of a smart energy management system that has reduced overall plant energy consumption by 18% in the past two years.

AuraMaia‘s holistic approach, which also includes extensive employee training in sustainable practices and a zero-landfill policy for non-recyclable production waste, which is instead used for energy recovery.
